About Travels in Greece 2002

Ancient History

This course for grade eight students surveys the history of civilization from its beginnings to the Egyptians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, ending with the Byzantine Empire and the Middle Ages. Particular emphasis is placed on primary sources, with students reading documents such as the Behistun inscription, Pericles' Funeral Oration (from Thucydides) and the Res Gestae.
